All of the songs are the original work of David Taylor unless noted otherwise. The songs on the site are rough cuts.
"Take"
The song "Take" was written as a prayer looking through the eyes of one of my friends. She has given her life to
God, and it seems like every time that something starts to go right, a trial is thrown in front of her. In this song I tried
to capture what she is thinking. Just crying out to God to let everything be ok.
"One More Memory"
"One More Memory" was written for my high school graduation. It captures the fact that our class had tons of memories
together. Some of those memories were hurtful, and some were happy but all of them were ours. Graduation came up on us fast
and we didn't want to leave each other. Our class of 15 had grown very close and we wanted "One More Memory". This
was my first original song that I ever performed live. I sang it at graduation, and did not know if I was going to make it
through. I debated whether or not to put this song on the cd but here it is due to popular demand.
"Growing Up"
"Growing Up" was actually written several years ago when I was a Junior in High School. I was sitting in SAT Prep
thinking about how we would graduate the next year. I thought about how a lot of us did not know where we were going to go
and what we were going to do. It is a strange world out there that we have never seen because we don't get out as Christians
to reach it. That is what I tried to capture when I penned this song.
"Be A Missionary"
"Be A Missionary" actually was a last minute thing. It was missions conference at Trinity Bible Church in Rock
Hill, South Carolina, and the music director, Terry Gold, asked me if I would do a solo. I agreed, but when I got home I
realized that I didn't have any songs that had anything to do with missions. I wrote "Be A Missionary" that afternoon,
and performed it that evening.
"Boys Night Out"
Ok the title of this song just screams for a story! "Boys Night Out" was written for Matt Watson, Ryan Waldroop,
Danny Burkhart, and myself. The summer after our senior year in high school we would always try to get a bunch of people
together to go see a movie and then go to our favorite restraunt in town, Chili's. Well it always ended up just being
us guys for whatever reasons the girls decided to give us. So in the song I say "girls aren't allowed" ok so that wasn't
exactly true but it sounds better. Either way we always ended up having an awesome time on "the boys night out".
